Storytelling is an art conveyed through one’s imagination and creativity.

However, storytelling can be presented in more ways than words. I have chosen to capture the art of narration through the scale of objects in photography.

Experimenting with the distance between my camera lens and an object creates a unique depiction of stories told through photos. Each image in my collection tells its own story that is designed to be deceiving yet magical.

My inspiration for this project is based on my passion for storytelling. From a young age, I grew an appreciation for how words can paint a picture in the minds of an audience. A single photo can express a similar, if not more powerful, effect on imagination than several words can.

Through my lens, I wanted to leave the purpose of the stories told through each photo up to the discretion of those who viewed the collection. Some may relate an image to a story that has already been told, or they may invent an anecdote of their own. The scale of each photo is meant to complement the aspect of imagination in storytelling through photography.
